A tiny wooden cabin stands alone in a wide, snowy valley at blue hour. Its windows glow a warm yellow, the only warm colour in a scene of blue snow and dark mountains rising on all sides. Light snow is falling. Scale is the point of the picture: the shelter is small, the landscape vast, and the lit windows draw the eye immediately.
The contrast of cold and warmth suits restaurants, wine bars, hotel lounges and chalets, as well as villa dining rooms in the mountains. It pairs with dark wood, wool, leather and stone, and looks best under warm, low light. It reads from three metres and makes a good companion for a fireplace wall.
