Waiting rooms and treatment rooms deserve the same care as a hotel lobby. Calm landscapes, water, plants and soft light are a frequent choice here: they give the eye somewhere to rest. The surfaces matter as much as the motifs, because walls in practices are cleaned often.

• Calm motifs

  Soft horizons, water and botanical works are a popular choice for waiting areas. Avoid very dark or dramatic images in rooms where people wait anxiously.

• Hygiene

  Acrylic glass and matte sealed aluminium have closed surfaces that can be wiped. Paper behind glass is better kept for offices and corridors.

• Treatment rooms

  A work on the wall or even on the ceiling above a treatment chair gives patients something to look at. Ask us about formats for ceilings.

• A consistent line

  Choose one collection for the whole practice. Patients notice when reception, corridor and rooms belong together.
