A villa wall is rarely an ordinary wall. Ceilings are high, sofas are long, and the light changes from morning sea glare to evening lamps. A work has to hold its own at that scale without shouting. Our collections are composed for exactly this: clear motifs that read from across the room and still reward a closer look.

• Scale to the furniture

  A good starting point is a work about two thirds as wide as the sofa or console below it. Above a 260 cm sofa that means roughly 170 to 180 cm. The viewer on every work shows the result to scale.

• Choose the surface for the light

  Rooms that face the sea or a garden with strong daylight are calmer with matte aluminium. Acrylic glass gives the deepest colour where the light is controlled, for example in a lounge or hallway.

• Coastal climate

  Near the sea, humidity and salt air are hard on paper. Prints on aluminium composite, behind acrylic or with a matte seal, are the more robust choice for coastal homes.

• Think in pairs

  Long corridors and double-height rooms often look better with two related works than with one. Every collection has works that are composed to sit next to each other.
